Way back in the 1840's, when Mount Barker was a new settlement with great hopes for an agricultural future, the Mount Barker District Show was born. Since then it's grown and changed to become the modern show it is today, serving the community and showing us the best that this area can produce.
The Mount Barker show has faced challenges through its long history, including a few years when it was in recess, and last year's covid cancellation, just days before the gates were due to open.
The show is an icon of our community, and one of the amazing things about it is that it's run entirely by volunteers. This week I caught up with two of those volunteers to find out what's in store for us at this week's show.
